First Week of Fun

Our first week of school will be full of fun and facts! I will be introducing our learning centers which include:

Reading: We will be starting on our reading workshop and talking about picking "just right" books. Here is a link that will put you on the right path on reading!  Books that are inspiring!

Math: We will review what we last learned in the past year; place value- writing numbers in standard word and expanded form.

Language: We will be starting to learn and discuss our writing workshop for the fall.

Social Studies: We will break off into groups and become the citizens of the United States during the Revolutionary War and write about our lives during that time in our past.

As we learn all about this important time in our country's history, and learn about the people who impacted the war, I would like you to ponder if Benedict Arnold was really a bad person during this War of Independence, ponder as if you were a British citizen. We will have a fun discussion in class with your answers.

Science: We will start to learn about the scientific method and our science time rules. Below is a fun song about what we are about to learn! Enjoy :)
